Board is a dynamic app designed to bridge the creative gap within communities. It offers a platform where individuals can discover inspirational artworks, create events, and facilitate networking among local artists. At its core, Board is about uniting communities and fostering collaboration.
The inspiration for Board stems from a solo trip I took to Seoul in 2017 when I was 19. Immersing myself in the city's underground art scene, I was struck by the synergy between artists who were at the forefront of cultural transformation. These artists collaborated with major companies while preserving the authentic essence of Seoul's local artist and musician community. Upon coming to Toronto, I observed that the creatives here have less centralized spaces and this may create disconnect between local creatives so I wanted to build a platform where they can have space to always keep in touch with the local community.
With Board, artists now have a dedicated space to showcase their work, host events, and collaborate. The integrated message board ensures that any artist seeking assistance can connect with peers in their locality. Moreover, Board's curated content is not exclusively for artists. It provides invaluable insights for non-artists and designers, allowing them to explore premier events handpicked by local cultural influencers and discover inspirational artworks.
